👩🏼🌾 Ingredients
- Ginger provides a range of health benefits as well as adding flavor to foods. It contains over 400 natural compounds, and some of these are anti-inflammatory. Ginger tea is a healthier alternative to ginger ale, ginger beer and other commercial canned or bottled ginger beverages.
- Lemons contain about 50 milligrams of vitamin C, which is over half the amount of vitamin C needed in your daily diet. Vitamin C is an antioxidant, which helps protect cells from damage. Vitamin C also helps your body make collagen for your skin, helps your body absorb iron, and supports your immune system.
- Agave syrup has a relatively neutral flavor. Therefore, it adds sweetness without altering the flavor of the tea.

💡 Expert tips
- Straining the liquid to remove the grated ginger is optional. For a higher potency tea, avoid straining.
- To preserve more of the antioxidant power of the ginger, do not boil it. Simply place the grated ginger in recently boiled water and steep for at least 10 minutes. Add the lemon slices to the ice cube trays once the water is cool.
- Place two cubes to a large thermos for on-the-go. Add hot water for serving. This makes a lukewarm tea, perfect for sipping throughout the day.
- Use a large metal straw for drinking to prevent the lemon from damaging tooth enamel if sipping over prolonged periods.
- Storage: Freeze the tea in a large ice cube tray for up to 3 months.
